We promised in the begining of the week that we would have some heat and some fire from Amani. Attached is her new hit sing called 2nite (Tonight). I totally like this song, these are the kind of songs that remind me of Kenya – I like the whole English and sheng integration with swahili. I personally like Amani’s style she sticks to her roots and keeps it real with what she knows how to do best.

This song reminds me of some maasai sounds and some kitui sounds – Am not sure who the production is by but none the less its a good tune. The first time Ive listend to a whole song and no Ulopa has been dropped or Ogopa in the whole song… “Tonight am letting go” GOOD TUNE, BIG TUNE…

I made a faux pas by listening to this track after “The Dreamer” by STL. The difference in quality is unmistakable but this track deserves to be critiqued on its on merit, not in comparison to another. Isn’t that what we all love? To be taken as individuals and not compared to your big bro, your neighbor Baba Mike etc

Amani sounds true to herself “Tonight”. She’s the romantic, bold and beautiful female. The content makes you wish you were the one being thanked for being such a good boyfee, with an implied reward to be expected “Tonight”.

The instrumental utilizes a few elements from her last hit “Missing ma Baby” with the chief culprit being the snare. But, still great to listen to and would be in a DJ’s play list in Nairobi. It’s just that Amani set her own bar so high with the runaway success of “Missing ma baby”. It’s hard duplicating such success. Even MJ couldn’t do it again after “Thriller”. This will be played more when the video chomokas..but it won’t be a big hit. Still, be open for surprises. Remember what every one was vybing about “Nasinzia” when it came out? We all ate humble pie and a coke a few months later..
