P-Unit – KArE (feat Mimo) (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

P-Units album is finally complete and should be hitting the stores (itunes also) in the next few weeks. I personally cant wait to meet these cats in person. I can’t wait for the US tour, I know it will be challenging for Kenyan promoters to support flight and accomodation for 3 artsts and a manager but I think the quality put into this album and they type of work these guys put out – SOMEONE somewhere better come up with a bright idea of how to get P-Unit in the US.

One of the few reasons I am persistent on getting to see P-Unit live is mainly because I feel like they haven’t let me down so far. Every song every rhyme, every video, every freestyle has just been quality delivery. To top that off with this single release to push the album – I just think its time. I think this is one group that I can listen to the entire album from start to finish. It also helps when you think that Musyoka (Decimal records) is behind the entire initiative.

P-Unit have been known to pioneer or invent new lingo/words sheng terms such as Iko Juu, Iko down e.t.a. Now with this KArE hit am left aloof… Am not sure what it means but this song is a sure shot – BANGER. Play this a few times before you pass judgment. Musyoka is a true production genius, put a genius producer with some talented lyricist and you get mega hits like this one..

Enjoy

P-Unit is the epitome of clever word play and rhyming! A very volatile group and I wish them a long lasting career with breakups!
I think KArE as used in this track is a fusion of meanings and words. (Kale Kare Mkali said as “KArE kare mKArE” – basically that hot chic) Kare is a Bantu word for dame or chic- hence the strong Bantu accent in all the verses! Don’t quote me but from the usage in the lyrics.
I like the way Musyoka has arranged the melody and beats…u can listen to this tune while standing or sat down..its got a feel good element even if its borderline sad love song!

  2. KevdaNative says:

This is a prime example of how to do music well. The beats are on point, tone is subtle, lyrics creative as ever. This group will go far if they dont start drama.Kudos

  3. keyboardb says:

Kare comes from the TZ way of pronouncing words, so in essence its KALI “Sijamuona mkali” e.t.c Song is awesome, Musyoka is like Kenya’s Kanye or Timbaland.
Frasha’s first verse kills it “ni kare!”, to think the guy is a doc at Aga Khan, pure genius

  4. Roddy says:

I ain’t gonna lie, this is good stuff. If they do come to the US i’ll definitely be there

musyoka on point as usual, frasha na ‘mistari kare’ as usual, the other 2 clowning as usual..but for some reason, the track ain’t a usual 1, ni ‘kare’. Cjui mnatoa wapi izi theory za kare wapi, me cjawai ona mkale mkali, I’d chuck a track too if I met such a mamaa they have as their vixen..
