GetMziki – Promo Only March 2017 Edition

breaking_Records_getMziki

It’s that time of the month again. It’s the promo only March 2017 edition.

I know we promised our readers, that in 2017, we would be having the promo only one every month. So far so good 🙂

Big shout out to all the djs that have been hitting us to keep on continuing with the promo only editions.

With so many artists and tons of records being released on a weekly basis, it’s sometimes so hard to fully enjoy and digest records. Added with the hundred of records we receive from artists, we started having a monthly showcase of songs that we sifted through to find the cream of the crop that we believe deserve a few spins. The result is a 18-track compilation with a few bonus tracks. We showcase tons of records on a weekly basis and with everyone being busy with their daily lives, we decided to start showcasing records that are exclusive releases, chart setters, songs that will be future hits, present hits and everything else in between. Consider this as a music playlist to keep you abreast on what’s popping in the East African music scene.”

You can access the previous promo only editions here.

Dela – Paza Sauti

Taurus Musik presents the official Paza Sauti video by Kenyan, Dela. Paza Sauti is a Swahili phrase that means ‘project your voice.’ The song aims to encourage the Kenyan citizens to perform their civic duty by registering and voting in the upcoming general elections.

Je ungefanyaje if the took away your choice
Je ungefanyaje wangeifunga mikono yako
Mbona basi umesleki, knowing that you have a voice
Yakimwagika hayazoleki, bora ujaze kikombe chako
Usijeukajuta
Kwahivyo

Kenyan Kev- Goddess

This is brand new from Kenyan Kev titled “Goddess”. On the record he goes hard and gives his own spin on the Crown love Riddim which was a huge hit last year with records like One Phone Call from Vybz Kartel, Don’t Come Back by Tarrus Riley my own by Konshens and My love by Christopher Martin.

Here is what Kenyan Kev said about the record

A track for the ladies, letting them know they are more than just females, they are Goddesses. They are the reason why this world revolves, they are the reason why this track is was recorded especially on Crown Love Riddim so we can celebrate them Thank you ladies.

Kenyan Kev does justice on the record. I also love the way they have been consistently on their grind….

Kudos on the graphics and everything else…

Khaligraph Jones x Cashy- Micasa Sucasa (VERRY HOTTT)

Khaligraph_Jones_Get_Mziki

It’s been 4 years since we featured K. Jones as part of the 2012 Freshmen. We caught some heat on the list but time never lies. Fast forward to 2016 and Khaligraph is one of the top MC in Kenya right now. He’s been elevating his game and the records and shows are a testament on his ability as an artists. Micasa Sucasa is his latest offering.

Inspired by the original Song Hell On Earth By Mobb Deep, Khaligraph Jones and Cashy Merge to make Their own African Version Of it 2 Decades later since the original was released. K Jones and Cathy go back and forth spitting some dope lines and doing justice on the beat..

We are trying to get a good quality audio and once we do will post it here.

Dan Mixa- Straight Outta Bongo (Bongo Flava Mix)

StraightOuttaSomewhere (2)

Dan Mixa sent me this mix a few weeks ago and now posting it. WIth so many djs out there and so many mixes, it sometimes hard to differentiate one dj mix from the other one since generally it’s the same records sequenced differently. I’m naturally biased when it comes to dj mixes, in that I’ll listen and only post dj mixes that have new music and exclusives and that out of the studio type of music that is available out there. I like to keep abreast on new artist, studio and new records that will be future hits.

Dan Mixa is a dj who apart from playing records, breaks records and gives you that exclusive music that keeps you in tune on what popping in the East African music scene.

Straight Outta Bongo is a Bongo Flava Mix that is loaded with tons of exclusives interlaced with current club bangers. Wit hthis you are guaranteed to be in tune with what’s poppin in the Tanzanian music scene

Boneless- Superficial

Boneless

We’ve featured Boneless before with Kusunga and Supasta before. On his latest offering produced and mastered by Saint Evo Boneless goes hard on this EDM type or record. His past record enjoyed undeniable success at radio and clubs. To keep the momentum rolling on, which in today’s music climate means releasing releasing record every couple of months, Boneless gives his listeners Superficial”.

Mainly done in the Kamba language, Boneless attacks the beat with some great flow. This bumps… Good work by all.

Bamboo- Too much Potential

Bamboo, the African Bantu, has been away from the music scene for a while and although he was quiet his skills on the mic have become betetr as evident by this new single called “Too Much Potential”.

We’ve done a few projects with Bamboo in the past and I can tell you he got crazy metaphors and endless bars. For music fans, then this is one of those tracks that stay in constant rotation in your playlist.

Listen to the song below:

Yamoto Band- Tembo

Yamoto2

Yamoto band is a group that is from Tanzania that has been makin strides in the Bongo music scene. It’s a group comprised of four young talented artists and are well known for hits like Ya moto, Nitajuta and Niseme.

I’m not really a fan of artists that go from unknown to famous off the strength of a viral hit, then after everything has cleared up, nothing else comes out from the artists. I’m all about full projects (body of work) accompanied with slow progressive growth and Yamoto band is a good example of that. If you love that soulful music that is non -hyped and just good music, you will definitely live Yamoto Band’s bongo-flava music.

Madee Feat P-Unit- Pombe Yangu (***GetMziki Exclusive)

Madee-getMziki_2013

Just got this record today from our main music connects in Kenya Dj Dan Mixa whose no doubt the “King Of Exclusives”. I really don’t have to say so much about the remix. The original was a smash hit and this new remix that features P-Unit extends the shelf life of this amazing track.

Madee’s music consistency is paying off. This record is already on repeat…..

Straight banger……

Totti_GetMziki

We haven’t featured Totti before on the site and with his amazing portifolio it seems that he’ll soon be a current feature on the site. Totti is a coastal artist, trained music producer, sound engineer and CEO of Kay-G Records based in Mombasa.

His body of work is amazing and in due time we will be a featuring some of his current stuff here. “Tujirushe” finds Totti hooking up with another fast rising star in Kidis for a super amazing collabo. This is an older song he did but one that definitely deserves some shine.

Bump this heavy….
