This is Maaaaaaaaaad and straight fireeeeeeeeee…

Abbas went had on this one. His verses and word play were the strongest.

Bamboo, Abbas, Chiwawa – DNA ni TNA (GetMziki Mixtape Fridays)

Bamboo-Abbas_Chiwawa_N

It’s no secret that we always maintain a non partisan stance when dealing with various issues whether political, social or even music wise. It’s how we just maintain and still have maintained our past present and future connections and friendships.

I’m not really going to go into the whole time line and history of how the track came about. This post is not about that and nobody’s gonna come out victorious in the long run as we’ll make it into the one of those never ending debates. I’ll let the music speak for itself. We are also sitting on a few gems from Bamboo and Abbas that we’ll hopefully release to the masses in due time.

Can I be the first to say that we really need a few records from the trio. Bamboo, Abbas and Chiwawa are masters of this rap thing, as demonstrated by DNA ni TNA, which definitely will find some appeal to the party crowd or the conscious Hip Hop fans. It’s not five-mic material but it’s rating is way up there to showcase what happens when you mix great rhymes with quality production.

Abbas Kubaff and Chiwawa – Abbachiwa show (GetMziki Exclusive ****)

This is hot off the press, I wanted to pretend I haven’t listened to it and I also wanted to pretend that it doesn’t exist. I also wanted to pretend that because its a sample it doesn’t make it that fly – But f&*k it the collaborative efforts of Abbas and Chiwawa are now too hard to ignore. THIS TRACK IS FIRE. I actually will make the shortest post in the history of GetMziki and end this doze here coz I really cant believe the audacity of these two cats. Its amazing when two people can rise up above their differences and just let their creativity put their wits to excellence – Abbas and Chiwawa I salute you two officially.

Chantelle feat Abbas -Tokelezea

This track is just ridiculous its not a club banger but I want to meet this chile so I can understand how she thinks coz really if there was an artists that I felt could go toe to toe with Mejja or Abbas it must be Chantelle. I guess the gist of the song is that she has come out (TOKELEZEA) but just how she says it with swag!! OMG … I wish many of you could understand sheng coz the first verse is just too much for me. But let me just attempt to put these lyrics here how I understand them… “Cheki vile hizo macho zimetokelezea, hizo haga zimetokelezea, sababu wanasema hati mimi nakula mbolea … Niko fresh bila cream sija toka Bel Air, natoka keja bila makeup sija podolea, nabado nina kaa poa nime tokelezea, nina bra na ma nipples zime tokelezea….”

Wicked Wicked this is now on my top 5 playlist right now. Can anyone provide Chantelle’s picture or something I need to see who this mama is – so I can salute this first verse.

From what I understand this track is part of a compillation album called Kapella, thats all the information I know – you can check out their reverb nation for more tracks and information:

Abbas Kubaff – Shika Doggy (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

Abbas vs Chiwawa

The Beef Continues… Should I weight in right now or after the the jump? Actually let me go in now..

So round one was posted a few week ago (early June) – If you missed it click here to check out the on going beef between Abbass and Chiwawa. Now we knew it was only a matter of time before the response came through we just didn’t know Doobiez was going to go all out…

We are yet to get our hands on the MP3 version for the DJ’s busy making mixtapes right now however the video was just too hilarious not to post this here. Dressing chiwawa with a skirt (the actual pooch dog) and putting Abbas face on Bumble bee (Transformers) was just priceless. A priceless experience to a beef that is escalating..

We will go in hard after the mp3 is posted..

Abbas feat Eppy – Sun Will Shine (GetMziki Exclusive ****)

abbas_eppy

This is one of the most non-assuming tracks I’ve heard in a long time, although once you start putting Eppy into perspective you realize that he deserves every accolade that will be coming his way. AP or Eppy hails from Uganda and anyone who has been a keen follower of Ugandan Music will immediately realize that majority of their successful artists are dancehall inspired (or what I call lugmaffin – a fusion of luganda and raggamuffin). The top artists from the region, Chameleon, Ragga D, Bebe Cool, just to name a few are all raggamuffin/ dancehall inspired artists. With no exception to Eppy who has been nominated twice for Pearl Africa Awards and has won once. So to me this joint doesnt really come off as a surprise hit coz both artists are ontop of their game.

Doobiez delivers on this track as usual, its interesting to hear his lyrics/rhymes over reggae beats but I must admit I kinda enjoyed that change. Either way without giving too much away I will drop this beat and let y’all digest it.

Brand New: Harry Kimani feat Abbas – Happiness (GetMziki Exclusive **)

harry_kimani_01

We have been documenting a lot of Abbas over the last few months, so much that his latest entry on the site featured the same artists he seems to be supporting on this track. Murume (Juu ya Laa) just happens to be my best track so far from Abbas this year, I look forward to replacing that song on my ipod.

This is some new heat from Harry Kimani, or off Harry Kimani’s upcoming album. I’ve always been a fan of HK, only that I felt his Bhangi would hold him down too fast too soon. I understand he is off that shit these days, but HK is one of the most talented vocalist in Kenya. When he dropped Waithera – it was like whoa! basss the official Kikuyu chic magnet song was out. Every chile wanted to be called Waithera so that the song could be dedicated to them. However funny enough I dont like the name Waithera – I like Njambi instead or Njoki – those are classic Kikuyu names.. even Njeri although thats too common. But I digress sorry…

I like this song, its mellow its interesting and its a good weekend track – its not Harry’s best work nor Abbas but it will pass for being featured here and being acclaimed. Give it a listen.

Abbas – A Million Rhymes (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

Doobiez

It may appear we are having an Abbas inspired week, I have had this song for a while but I

didnt think much about it in comparison to Juu ya Laa (Murume) however looking through the comments on that post – I think its only right that I share it now.

Abbas spits some political lines that as I understand caused some heat in Kenya because of the realness of the content… give this track a listen.

Update: The Quality on the streaming is not the best but am working to resolve that

Brand New : Abbas feat Harry Kimani – Murume (Juu ya Laa – GetMziki Exclusive ***)

Doobiez

Today is an exciting day for the GetMziki team, we managed to ink some deals strategically as an organization and as a business. Within the coming months you will start to see a lot more music from Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana and Senegal.

However one thing is for sure we will definitely have a lot more EXCLUSIVE music from Kenya – straight from the studios, such as this new track from Abbas featuring Harry Kimani.

Truthfully this is the best track I’ve heard the whole year – and I am betting all my sneakers that it will be the biggest/best song of the year. I don’t think this is the type of song you will hear in a club, but its definitely a radio banger, a car cruiser, and a lyrically stimulating TRACK. Harry Kimani blesses the hook with his explosive vocals – and Abbas grinds auto tune combined with some killer production skills. I don’t know who produced this track but the guy is a genius. I feel like I can fly back to Kenya just to sit on this explosive recording session… THIS GETMZICIANS is why this site exists… THANKS for making GOOD Music….

Enjoy

Brand New: Abbas – Get Down (GetMziki Exclusive***)

Doobiez

I will never get over the fact that Abbas still remains one of the most under rated artists in Kenya. I wont even get into his lyrical capabilities and how he is always on the rise with verbal assault. What I will say though is this BEAT is fat – “Kama Blaze, ama kama sukuma wiki na Mayonasse, Ama kama Achieng Abura na Victor Seii wakiingia kwa dinga – heeiii eeeii” (Those Lyrics were coined by Bamboo not me)

Abbas drops a line on this track with that Auto Tune “sisi ni warui, tunawaroga kama wakamba wa kitui” That thing just put me on the floor.

ps. Rumor has it that Abbas is beefing with Jua Cali – can anyone confirm??

Enjoy the track..

Doobiez – Abbas Kubaff Mujanjama – The Album ***

Disclaimer: These tracks are off Abbas’s unreleased album (or released), I’ve had these tracks for about 4 years now but figured today it won’t matter as much whether I shared them or I didn’t. So before some folks start complaining that this music isnt new – I’d just like to put it out there that I know… but i still think the quality of work these guys put in 4yrs ago, deserves recognition today – ITS STILL RELEVANT.

Not much can be said about any of these tracks because by me putting them here already means I think they are hot. However i’d appreciate any feedback as usual. My favorite track of course is the Anga Banga Anthem. (Anga Banga eventually became slang for Boza or Weed). Lyrically I tend to compare Abbas to Lil Wayne – some people don’t like that comparison, but to me their style of rhyming is the same. They say things backwards – they bring the punchline before the statement. Consider this line off Anga Banga Anthem.

// Wacha ni wa spike kama Spanish fly, kwa ma drink na ma punchline saa ya lunchtime baadala ya ketchup na fries, rap king Solomon nina mawazo wise, na teach about life, na talk about kuwa survivor na ku stay alive, kama wa see wa five, si lazima ni rap about ma thighs na ma dame na tights … //

If that line passed you then Abbas lyrical flow will definitely be disruptive to you, but if you can read that and or listen to Anga Banga and appreciate the arrangement of lyrics and the context of his statements then you too will appreciate Mr. Mujanjama and realize that he is sincerely one of the defining rappers/artists of our time (in Kenya that is)

True to the fact I listen to all this songs mostly daily
