Victoria Kimani F/ Diamond and Ommy Dimpoz – Prokoto (**GetMziki Exclusive)

I consult with various artists and one thing we frequently debate on is the amount of material artists should release in a given time span. In the current music model, releasing a record and “letting fans enjoy” it is an old fashioned model. The current music fan is like a crack fiend. His music addition will always have him searching for new artists that are releasing good quality records to a point of even abandoning his favorite artist. My advice is that so long as you are releasing great quality records keep on feeding the streets with music.

Victoria Kimani understands the “feed your music fan” concept well. This past year she’s released a couple of dope records and dropped a mixtape in a span of 6 months. Few artists can attest to that in the EA region. We recently featured her a few weeks ago with the #bringbackourgirls campaign record.

Victoria Kimani enlists Tanzanian Diamond and Ommy Dimpoz for this infection dance floor packed Prokoto which apparently means swag in Congolese.

Shetta Ft Diamond – Kerewa

If you love Tanzania music, you know that any new music that has a touch of Diamond is a must listen. I’m not taking it away from Shetta who’s been MIA for a while now. When I got this gem dropped in my inbox, I instantly knew it had to get a feature on the site.

Kerewa is a must listen for fans of Bongo music. The beat is on point and both artists make the record shine. I was grooving to this after a few listens.

Diamond feat Davido – Number One Remix (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

We dropped this track a few months ago and declared it a winner by all means. It appears we weren’t the only ones ranting and raving about this crazy joint, Davido just killed it by collaborating with Diamond and elevating the joint to the next level.

Right now it looks like DIAMOND could do no wrong, big ups to the Bongo Flava king, he is definitely running Tanzania right now.

Diamond – Kwanini (**GetMziki Exclusive)

Word is that Tanzania superstar Diamond will be embarking on his first US tour starting this week. We at GetMziki are so proud to see all the hard work work Diamond has put in, slowly paying off. According to our sources, he’s one’s of the biggest go to artists in Tanzania right now. We remember like it was yesterday when we first showcased his music years ago and put our stamp of approval on him being the “Next superstar” in Bongo music.

I personally remember his first track that had an amazing all around first Impression. Upcoming artists can definitely use Diamond as a template as to “What to do” when starting out in the music industry. From my daily reads, I have come across numerous articles that give artists various tips on marketing your music.

Numerous artists often hit us asking for tips on how to get featured on the site or make the “it” step. One major tip that Diamond has used to his advantage apart from the great music is a great online presence. Consider this as Tip 1 for upcoming artists:

We got this brand new track this week from our Bongo connect Alvin. It’s new classic Diamond material. Enough said

Shetta Feat Diamond – Nidanganye

Here is a good example of where promoting artists also has it limitations. All I can find about Tanzanian artist Shetta is that he's one of the first rising R & B stars in Bongo Music. For all the listeners out there not from East Africa, “Nidanganye” means “lie to me”.

This track is definitely a dance floor jam. Considering that the music industry has no minimum qualifications for entry

and with everyone and their friends getting into the music industry, only time will tell about Shetta's longevity in the Bongo music scene.

Let's wait and see if we get more jammin records from Shetta.
