Fally Ipupa feat Krys – Sexy Dance (GetMziki Exclusive **)

I need to post a few big songs of 2011 that are currently being voted on MOAMAS, the reason I dont post these songs is just because GetMziki is not really about commercial music, we break artists here. Really think about it, when was the last time you saw Nameless featured here, or Fally Ipupa? Considering am about to post Fally’s big song am just trying to make a point that we are all about the URBAN SOUND. So while we acknowledge that there are thousands of new African songs produced each day – we try to stay focused on our genre of choice which is these EDGY upcoming Urban tracks.

However today am breaking the rule slightly coz this song is just big… so here we go.

ONE8 Supergroup (***GetMziki Exclusive)

We rarely report on news going on in the music world but sometimes we really have to cross the bridge and report on news we see fit for the site. If you are still wondering what “ONE8” is, then you are not alone.

ONE8 is the buzzing new African music super group composed of artists from various countries in Africa produced and managed by the first major pan-African record label and 360 music company, Rockstar4000 within the family of the world’s number 1 recording company Sony Music. The artists on ONE8 are Kenyan’s Amani, Nigeria’s 2Face, Ugandan hip-hop artist Navio, Zambia’s biggest super star JK, Tanzanian heartthrob Ali Kiba, Ghanaian trio 4×4, Gabonese duo Movaizhaleine and DRC’s hot sensation, Fally Ipupa. ONE8 is rumored to be working on a hit song with a top US artist, yet to be named, produced by an undisclosed top international producer and will drop in November with a hot video, also by an international music video director.

Word on the streets is that they will be doing a collabo with either Rihanna, Chris Brown or Pink but everything is just hearsay as of now. The all star group to taking the best in music from Africa onto the global stage, connecting millions of fans through the universal language of music. Super groups are always ushered in joy and hype, but past history has always shown us that “egos” always end up breaking the groups. We here @ GetMziki are really excited for the group which will hopefully open up tons of doors for African music.

We have featured most of the artists on ONE8 here at GetMziki and you are guaranteed that we will be premiering the new tracks from the group as we get them. Lets go!!!!!

Fally is not new on GetMziki or on the Internet – actually anyone who wants to befriend Fally just has to point his browser to his Facebook page here – Fally Ipupa on Facebook – he is an avid Facebook user and has a large fan base. Fally is one of those artists you just respect period – enough said. To collaborate with Olivia and produce this flashy video just brings African Urban music to a whole new entertainment space.

Olivia who apparently left G-Unit in 2008 after spinning hits with 50 Cent such as Best Friend. seems to have found some good spirits with the African star Fally Ipupa. Its rumored that Olivia is now signed to Universal and has an upcoming project titled Alone with You.

I wonder if she is going to dedicate this album to her new found love 🙂

Fally Ipupa. Mabele

Fally , is one of the new crop of  ‘Rumba Congolaise’ artistes along with Ferre Gola who are attempting to snatch the mantle from the established artistes like Koffi Olomide, JB Mpiana, and Werrason. The thing about Congolese music is that it functions like a school. Take Fally for instance, Fally was a member of Koffi’s Quartier Latin, Koffi before him was a member of Papa Wemba’s Viva la Musica. Papa Wemba himself was a member of Zaiko Langa Langa so there is definitely some kind of artistic education system.

Fally Ipupa

As for Fally, he definitely has a HipHop swagger but manages to remain rooted in Congolese rumba. the track Mabele is a modern throwback.
