Gabu Feat Kristoff and Jalango- Am So Dirunk (****GetMziki 3 Piece Exclusive Download Friday)

IMG_5582

P-Unit’s Gabu just released this record titled “Am So Dirunk” that features rapper Kristoff and Comedian Jalang’o. The whole P-Unit stable is currently releasing records and trying to establish their own sound and identity as individuals after doing the group thing for so many years.

Produced by Ulopa/ Bwana Ngoma, “Am So Dirunk” is one of those party type of tracks. It did not do so much for me but then, I only listened to it a few times before posting the song. Who knows, I might feel the full potential of the record when I’m in the party mood and really dirunk 😉

Mimmo Feat Chiku – Rollacoaster (**GetMziki Exclusive)

mimmo_new_img

I’m sure when Mimmo entered the music scene, she knew the up’s and downs associated with the various systems whether dealing with fellow artists, media houses or record executives who would be sometimes rotten to the core. Through all this, I’m sure she clearly understands the whole idea of artists maturing. She has accomplished a lot even before releasing her major-label debut album and on “Rollacoaster” Mimmo returns to what makes her tick by grabbing Ulopa Ngoma for some solid track with more positives than negatives.

The record is a decent track with decent lyrics that is finding a few spins on my music playlist. One thing that stuck for me was how the producer Ulopa Ngoma switched sounds and added various elements throughout the track creating a “learning production” exercise. However from a fan and outsider perspective, I don’t know how everyone out there will perceive the production and record.

Collo Ft. Sauti Sol- Dreamer (Tawala) (**GetMziki Exclusive)

The best thing about Collo is that you never know what to expect from him. He’s always pushing the boundaries and is never afraid to show his different musical and human personas. Listening to “Dreamer” a personal dedication to his daughter, Collo proves that being heavy in the streets and making hit records still leaves space for letting fans into his personal life.

Collo had this to say whe he sent the GetMziki team the track. ” It’s been approximately 1 year since God blessed me with my Daughter Tawala. Attached is a song I have done dedicated to her and I have to share it with you.”

Sauti Sol lend their vocals on this tribute track that was produced by Ulopa Ngoma. On a side note, Collo can we get the “King wa Rap” album.

Kyraz feat Wyre – No More

Roba dropped this track a few weeks ago from one of his close friends Kyraz. Its an interesting collabo between Kyraz and Wyre which seems to have some heavy weights blessed in both the video and audio. Audio: ULOPA and Video: Ogopa Videos. Both moves of which I find such positive career moves in terms of getting the best to lace up your work as an artists.

I am barely getting to listen to the song so I have no real opinions about the track just yet. But I can tell you the video has a CAKE on it. There is a yellow yellow brown brown in a RED DRESS that had me fixated for pretty much majority of the day today. I know it sucks that through out the entire video instead of paying attention to the song, I’ve been mesmerized by the beauty in the vid, but real talk – thats probably why the selected her for that part…

Bit I digress – here is some info on Kyraz that he sent over.

Bio:
Kyraz is an upcoming Hip hop artist who is slowly solidifying his place in the Kenyan Hip hop scene. His first debut on the music scene is when he featured in E-Sir’s song called Wika some years back. Since then, he has been perfecting his rhyming skills and doing some singles with other underground artists before he got into mainstream. He has also been a key figure in the development of the group, Ground Zero (Aromas, Opips and Jardel) of the Haitawezekana fame (which featured earlier on in this website), in which he features in their new video “So High”. He has an album out called Boy Mistari (Which is a banger) that features Wyre, Sauti Sol, and Zakah from Wenyeji. Productions are from Ulopa and Aromas.

I find bio’s very cliche’ but I am getting into the habit of posting bio’s and creds based on how the artists themselves what to be known and not how I feel they should be known.

Brand New Music: Kleptomaniacs feat Ulopa – Psycho

Its NMT on GetMziki, NMT – New Music Tuesdays, it seems I get all new music on Tuesdays, both western and Localz. Only that I don’t get to listen to the songs until much later so I cant publish until the following day.

I got this song yesterday, but i’d heard it a few days ago – initially I thought this was a collaboration between P-SQUARE and KLEPTOMANIACS. I knew the song was a sure shot – there was no doubt about it, and then something phenomenal happened. Ulopa name dropped his track branding ID a few times… Before I realized it, the hook was actually being performed fully by Ulopa!!!

I’ve said it over and over again Ulopa Ngoma is probably the next production house in Kenya to watch out for, but with this T-PAIN Esq approach where he actually dabs into the track, sings the hook and mimics P-Square or a Nigerian artist to me I think its just phenomenal. This track is killer, killer club song, killer car song, killer party song… KLEPTO never disappoint, I think as a rule Klepto should stick to doing songs together, Nyash by himself and Collosh by himself and Roba on his own is nothing compared to when they all come together to do such work.

LISTEN TO THIS SONG its on FIRE.. ON FAYA.. FAYA ME FAYA ME ha ha ha..

Brand New: Kleptomaniacs – Magnetic

klepto_01.jpg

So maybe this song is not that new coz its been sitting in my music folder for months now, but it was released this year and has gotten no love whatsoever online and in the video logs. Its an interesting attempt at the trio in trying something new. The sound is not the usual classic Ogopa sound or the traditional Kapuka beat… this is a ULOPA NGOMA (you know I kinda like these Ulopa guys.. their production style is interesting)

Either way here is Kleptomaniacs with Magnetic..
