I think when a song hits like 5 Million views on youtube regardless of where or which country the artists is from this is something to be recognized. Iyanya’s Hit track has hit the FIVE MILLION mark on YT. I cant believe it. I keep asking myself whats the formula? Why this track and not many other Naija tracks? I dont know but the fact is, 9/10 times in an African party overseas this track will be dropped at least three times in a night.
For what its worth this banger really makes me proud of African music – because when I compare the response to these tracks on a global stage like YouTube and compare them to some of Fifty’s new music. I am excited that Africa is finally challenging the norm on the internet when it comes to music.
