Dj Mista T just released this mix yesterday and it definitely deserves a spot on Mixtape Fridays. I’ve been riding to his mixes for a while now and every time he drops an UTAKE mix, it’s always full of exclusives and out of the box records and artists. It’s a discussion we have any times with my music enthusiasts pals. There are djs who just play records and there are djs who break records by going out there, hitting blogs and various media outlets looking and searching for new records and artists that are making good quality street music, that is not on every other dj set. It’s not a love-hate thing, it’s just the way it is.
His mixes are always accompanied with a playlist which is something we always strife for when we post mixes on the site. Mista T UTAKE’s 2012 mix is intermixed with some new exclusives, dance floor packers and a few records that you will not hear on your local radio station. There are very few djs who would take listeners through a musical trip trip across E.A by dropping gems by Cpwaa, Kidis, Marya, Nonini, Grace Nakimera interlaced with a brand new Redsan (SIDE NOTE: We’ve been bumping to stripper heels for a few weeks now, but the label had told us to hold back posting the song).
