There are a few songs that I want to showcase as they have been sitting on the server for a few weeks now. From the looks of things, it seems that every on air personality is trying to do the music thing nowadays. Some of them are really putting some effort into it while some of them are not. Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania is definitely putting in some much deserved work.
Vanessa Hau Mdee, a.k.a. Vee, was born in Tanzania on 7 June 1988. The pint-sized urban beat connoisseur had the opportunity to travel the world at a young age, growing up in New York, Paris, Nairobi and Arusha. Vanessa quickly became familiar with many different forms of creative and performing arts. Although she studied law at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Vanessa admits it was not her smartest move. Entertainment was already in her blood… Since her VJ search win in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2007, Vanessa has managed to win the hearts of many. At just 19 years of age Vanessa walked away victorious by becoming Tanzania’s first ever MTV VJ, linking up with VJs Carol and Kule to host The Coca Cola Chart Express
It’s a decent track, but it has all the elements of an “Urban” radio station feel. I can definitely see this getting a few spins on my playlist.
