I consult with various artists and one thing we frequently debate on is the amount of material artists should release in a given time span. In the current music model, releasing a record and “letting fans enjoy” it is an old fashioned model. The current music fan is like a crack fiend. His music addition will always have him searching for new artists that are releasing good quality records to a point of even abandoning his favorite artist. My advice is that so long as you are releasing great quality records keep on feeding the streets with music.
Victoria Kimani understands the “feed your music fan” concept well. This past year she’s released a couple of dope records and dropped a mixtape in a span of 6 months.
